Lil’ Malcolm & The Zydeco House Rockers personify two closely related terms: family and tradition. This five-man band centers on guitarist Percy Walker and his two sons, drummer Percy Walker, Jr. and accordionist Lil’ Malcolm Walker. Inspired by Zydeco legends like Buckwheat Zydeco and Rockin’ Dopsie, the band’s steady focus on tradition sets them apart from the newest wave of Zydeco bands
Jesse Lége is one of the most admired Cajun accordionists and vocalists from Southwest Louisiana. He has garnered numerous Cajun French Music Association awards, known as the "Cajun Grammys". Jessie sings in the traditional high pitched, emotional style reminiscent of the late Iry LeJeune and plays the accordion with equal power and conviction.
The band has a distinctive contemporary urban sound that is firmly grounded within the single and triple row accordion sounds of Zydeco. Like Johnny says during their shows, "we put a New York edge to that Creole sound and when we hit the stage we don’t fool around."
The Lustre Kings dig deep into early rock and and rockabilly, connecting the dots among such unlikely musical bedfellows as Conway Twitty, Peanuts Wilson, Link Wray and Duke Ellington. Get your swing moves ready, the Lustre Kings will have you rocking and bopping on the dance floor!
